Sight & Sound
by Theresa Parente
As I walked out one evening
I felt both deaf and blind, my senses
fighting to find shades of grey
within the blackness- to hear a sigh of sound.
Then I saw and heard- pine trees
dancing, swishing, swaying,
to the humming of the breeze,
tossing pine cones toward my feet.
I looked at my life and wondered:
haw much did I miss
that brightness had obscured,
sound had drowned.
