ART IS LIGHT
Think for a moment of the tireless enjoyment you have gotten from your favorite song.
Think also of the diverse journeys you have taken through the lives of familiar characters by again reading your favorite book.
It is true that the things we enjoy most are the things that reveal to us the unknown aspects of who we are, a capacity perhaps which we had not explored, or a boundary we learn we can break through.

Join, then in an adventure of the language of texture, the melody of color, the very exuberance of space.
Take wide-eyed delight in each piece as you would your favorite song or story, for art takes us beyond the ordinary, transcending to an elevation where we indeed discover our souls.

I have found great pleasure in the wisdom of art and hope that through my art you can come to under stand your own complexities and beauty, to see the light.

Gretchen began her visual art career in 83 while living in Wyoming. She says that the vast nothingness is what intrigued her to see.
Since then she has traveled to and been inspired by such places as Nappa Valley, Salt Lake City , Denver, Florida, Georgia, and now Virginia Beach. Much of her work is in private collections throughout the country.
